Welcome to the AGC-SCOPOS 2024 International Conference, proudly co-organized by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Syiah Kuala (FISIP USK), and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). This year’s conference theme, “Social Dynamics of Contemporary Issues: Approaches and Knowledge for Global Resilience” aims to address the urgent and multifaceted challenges facing our global community today.

In a world where environmental degradation, climate change, and socio-economic inequalities pose significant threats to our future, AGC-SCOPOS 2024 seeks to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration. By bringing together leading academics, practitioners, policymakers, and students from diverse fields, we aim to explore innovative solutions and strategies that can drive sustainable development and resilience on a global scale.

The conference will feature a range of activities, including keynote speeches from renowned experts, panel discussions, workshops, and paper presentations. These sessions will cover a broad spectrum of topics, from environmental and climate policy, sustainable socioeconomics, and legal frameworks, to cultural dynamics, gender perspectives, and political strategies for sustainability.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the AGC-SCOPOS 2024 International Conference, co-organized by FISIP USK and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Our theme this year, “Social Dynamics of Contemporary Issues: Approaches and Knowledge for Global Resilience” reflects our commitment to addressing the critical challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for our global community.

In an era marked by rapid environmental changes and socio-economic transitions, it is imperative that we come together to share knowledge, discuss innovative solutions, and foster collaborative efforts that can lead to a sustainable and resilient future. This conference brings together a diverse group of scholars, practitioners, policymakers, and students from around the world to engage in meaningful dialogue and exchange ideas on how we can collectively advance our sustainability goals.
